MultiTrode Probe - Wastewater Level Sensor

The MultiTrode Probe has proven to be the most reliable and cost-effective liquid level sensor available. It was designed for the arduous and turbulent conditions encountered in sewerage, works in any conductive liquid and is backed by a 10-year warranty.

Testimonials from Probe customers:

A float sequence fault is when a float tilts out of sequence. I ran the report for an entire year at the station we first used Multitrode's level indicating probe. The day of installation was 12/30/08. From 6/01/08 to 12/30/08, while the station was operating on floats, the station recorded 88 faults. Each fault requires that an attendant or mechanic visit the site and address the problem. The time it takes to address these problems is about 2 hours per visit. This is including drive time, repair and disposal of debris. If you assume that half of the calls were addressed by an attendant and half by a mechanic team; it would be safe to equate this to 132 man hours. This works out to be around $1,800 in labor. Additionally, float sequence faults cause multiple pumps to operate when only one is needed, as well as short cycling, which is detrimental to the life span of the pump. After the installation of the probe, there has not been a single float sequence fault. There has been no entanglement, no trash to remove and most importantly, no short cycling. These probes have far exceeded my expectations.

We retrofitted the MultiTrode probe in some Flygt Compits - small packaged pump stations. The problem in the Compit was the lack of space meant that the ball floats would often tangle up, or get caught on top of the pump. The 3-sensor (0.5/3-10) probe combined with the MTR relay was tried out and worked so well that we ended up standardising on it. We now supply the 3-sensor (0.5/3-10) probe combined with a MTPC controller with the Flygt Compit as our standard dual pump sewage package station. For the more integrated pump station, we combine the probe with the Multismart Pump Station Manager giving the best solution possible for any pump station.

I had no idea what a probe was, until I had to clean it 11 years later.

My name is Ed Smith and I'm the Foreman for the City of Mason Public Utilities Department. We installed the MultiTrode system last June and have had a very good track record with the system. All the folks at MultiTrode have been a big help whenever we needed - they have been there for us day or night. Our call-in rate went down by 40%. This has a lot do with the fact that we no longer have floats to get caught on things in the wet well, like steps and guide rails and the fact that floats don't always turn back over. The MultiTrode system has been a big help in the PM of our pump stations.
