Outpost2 has been designed specifically for the needs of water and wastewater networks, and includes:
- SCADA - the graphical interface, alarming and trending
- Historian - the datastore and reporting interface
- MTU - the master telemetry unit, which communicates with the field hardware
Outpost2 SCADA is designed around the MultiSmart pump station manager in the field. Outpost2 is open and flexible so will work with any field hardware but derives its major benefits when MultiSmart is the major component in the field.
The product range achieves 3 key objectives:
- Low lifetime cost - a system which a typical organization can operate and expand themselves, without being continually reliant on outside organizations
- Low operational cost - provide a system which reduces operational and engineering costs by minimizing the need for site visits while improving asset performance
- Open systems and protocols - the organization can choose to use whatever products they like from MultiTrode, as well as products from other suppliers - without having to invest in overcoming proprietary interfaces

- Minimise site visits and after-hours callouts
- Provide cost-effective preventative maintenance scheduling
Typical SCADA systems simply raise a red flag when there is an apparent problem, and the first reaction is to visit the site to determine the cause.
Outpost 2 lets you determine the true cause of the problem without visting the site. It also allows you to control pumps remotely and reset pump faults and level alarms.
More..
Outpost 2 comes with all of the pre-built screens you will need for pump stations. So instead of spending months (or years) working out all of the details of how each station will appear in your SCADA, and then getting it implemented, you will have a fully functional and easy to use system from your first day.
When you begin expanding the number of sites on your SCADA system, you can use the simple "Add site" function - and add a site yourself in two minutes.
Low cost web clients give the whole organization access to the data in the system for minimal cost and minimal, or no, IT hassle.
And for users who want to do much more, the underlying SCADA platform itself - Iconics Genesis32 - is extremely user-friendly and intuitive to learn.
