MultiSmart Pump Station Manager

The MultiSmart Pump Station Manager is the new face of technology for monitoring and control of water and wastewater Pump Stations. MultiSmart is a comprehensive and easy to use replacement for pump controllers, PLCs and RTUs backed by a 5-year warranty and free software upgrades for the life of the product.

MultiSmart Pump Station Manager

Why Switch from the MT2PC?

MultiSmart offers a whole range of benefits over the MT2PC Family that make it well worth the price difference.

Better Operator Interface

The first thing users notice with the MultiSmart Pump Station Manager is how intuitive the display is. As with the MT2PC, the pump mode - auto/off/manual(hand) - and fault resets are one button press away.

MultiSmart benefits over the MT2PC include:
  • 50,000 event data logger with on-screen history display
  • Compact flash card for configuration save and restore, data log extraction and firmware upgrades
  • Bargraph displaying level to 0.5% resolution (handy if 4-20mA level devices are used)
  • Set points for pumps and alarms displayed next to bargraph
  • Time to start or stop pumps is displayed as a countdown (rather than a flashing pump running LED with MT2PC)
  • 3-phase supply displayed on main screen
  • 3-phase currents for each pump displayed (with motor protection option)
  • Pump mode easier to change
  • Fault information clearly displayed with date and time of fault occurring and clearing (rather than fast flash/slow flash on MT2PC)
  • Accumulators and I/O status clearly displayed on info screens
Visit the Screen Shots page for even more examples.

More Accessible Features

The MT2PC Family has a whole range of features, but they can be hard to access because of user interface. Key combinations and flashing LEDs have to be referred from the manual, making it hard to get the most out of the station.

MultiSmart has a simple menu design. As you can see from the screen shots, adjusting set points and setting parameters can be done without any training or even reading the manual.

DNP3 and MODBUS protocols are available, allowing connectivity to any other field device or SCADA system.

More Flexible Digital Inputs

Digital Inputs are more flexible than the MT2PC, with each DI configurable as:
  • Normal voltage-free input
  • Counter
  • MultiTrode conductive Probe
  • Seal or PTC thermistor
  • Flygt FLS
Additionally, a few DI's can be configured as:
  • Flygt CLS
  • High speed counter (1KHz)
One DI is configurable as the MultiTrode FailSafe Probe sensor.

Expandable

MultiSmart has the following upgrade options available - either at the time of purchase or in the field:
  • Full open-protocol DNP3 RTU
  • Flow calculations
  • Energy and pump efficiency monitoring (includes Motor Protection & Insulation Resistance Testing)
  • PLC capability (IEC61131-3)

How do I Convert from the MT2PC to MultiSmart?

Operators

If your operations staff are used to using the MT2PC, then they will immediately understand how to use the MultiSmart Pump Station Manager. Although there are many technically advanced features behind the scenes, we have ensured that the product is still designed around the needs of the operations staff.

Panel Design

MultiSmart is wired in a very similar manner to the MT2PC Family. Although the digital inputs are more flexible, there are have 4 standard templates for:
  • 2-pump with MultiTrode conductive Probe inputs
  • 3-pump with MultiTrode conductive Probe inputs
  • 2-pump with 4-20mA level input
  • 3-pump with 4-20mA level input
Each template has a full connection diagram in the manual. The template is automatically chosen when the user goes through the Setup Wizard to commision the station.

I would extend my congratulations of one on the best I&C improvements to the water and wastewater market that I have seen in the past 10 years! From an engineer's point of view the Multismart unit has been one the best conceived water and wastewater lift and pumping station controllers on the market today.
Gregory Shofer, Project Manager, Stantec, Ann Arbor, MI

I recently got a look at the MultiSmart controllers that you’ve created, and you’ve done well to package a good set of features into an attractive design and HMI-friendly product. I look forward to continuing to cover your efforts in the future.

MultiSmart will almost certainly play a large part in helping Thames Water achieve its goals in the near future. The fact you have put everything in a single box with ease of use, advanced intelligence and included a modern outstation means we can simplify our pump station switchboard design, save money on capital and operational expenditure as well as mitigate many of our current risks. I look forward to working closely with MultiTrode so we can get the most out of a pretty impressive product.

The City of Tavares has been using the Multismart products for just under a year. I can't imagine how we did it before; we can now monitor and control every station with speed and with the accuracy of information we require. We have also found the flow calculations invaluable for I&I studies during rain events. Our experience with the product and tech support to date has been excellent. We highly recommend Multitrode and its products. The City of Tavares have standardized on MultiTrode products and stand by them.
Brad Hayes, Utilities Director & Jerry Blair, Supervisor, City of Tavares, FL

We have tested and installed 6 Multismart pump station managers over the past 6 months and I wish to let you know that we have been very pleased with the performance and ease of installation. The field staff have saw the benefits over float controls, and over our next water plan we will be looking to convert all our stations. The specification for sewer stations now incorporates the Multismart as standard for pumping station management and control. For the past 12 years in the UK, with Scottish Water, I installed only the Siemens Enviroranger (LUC 500).This is an excellent and reliable pump controller, however, after testing Multismart, we have been pleased to find it is reliable, easier for operators to use, and offers additional monitoring capabilities over any other pump controllers I have used.
Frank McShane, Manager of Operations, East Gippsland Water Authority, Australia

The MultiSmart installation was the easiest thing I ever did
