Redundant Level Sensing with the MT2PC (AN73-1) (274KB PDF)
Redundant Level Sensing with the MT2PC using an analogue level sensor and a probe as a backup device...

Pump Control Applications These application notes specifically apply to improving pump control efficiency, or specialist pump control applications.

Spill Management using the Peak Levels function (AN53.1) (147KB PDF)
The MultiTrode MT2PC/MT3PC pump controller family comes with inbuilt functionality, which can be used for managing spills, in a much more efficient and much safer method than the traditional "hold out" technique.
Pumps not Alternating (AN42.3) (142KB PDF)
This application note shows how to solve the common "Fault" that the pumps are not alternating. This is not a fault, merely a mis-configuration issue. (Version 3 of this Application Note was created to also show the solution for Charge Mode Operation).
Turning Off Jockey Pumps When a Large Pump Starts (AN34.2) (184KB PDF)
Two small pumps normally control the well, with alternation. If the level gets too high, a third larger pump will turn on. The smaller pumps must be turned off when the large pump starts.
Selective Lock-out of Pumps (AN35.3) (161KB PDF)
This application note shows how to maximise use of available pumps while selectively locking out other pumps. The example used for this application note is a GenSet that cannot run certain combinations of pumps.

New Version Sump Cleanout (AN42.9) Multitrode Pump Controllers normally stop the pump-out sequence before the pump reaches the snore point. However, for many sewer wells, it is desirable to completely empty the well on a regular basis. This cleans the well, and reduces problems from odours.

Sump Cleaning Function (AN31.2) (184KB PDF)
This Application Note teaches how to get all pumps to periodically run past their normal stopping point in order to clean out the pipes in pre-v7.7 controllers.
Grit Mixer Control via Pump Controllers (AN22.2) (337KB PDF)
A Grit Mixer is controlled in sequence with the pumps to clean out the bottom of the well each cycle.
Reducing Odors in Sewer Wells (AN46.2) (261KB PDF)
How to use the "Maximum Off Time" function on MultiTrode's Pump Controllers to reduce odors from stagnant sewer wells.
Improving Safety at Pump Stations (AN47.2) (250KB PDF)
The MultiTrode Pump Controllers have various features that improve Occupational Health and Safety at site, by giving a visual indication of the well level without the need to open the well, and the ability to simulate levels to test control functions without having to actually fill the well.
Problems with Excess Station Starts (AN44.2) (226KB PDF)
Most municipal authorities have issues with excess pump station starts. This Application Note shows how to improve the efficiency of pump stations by intelligently limiting station starts.
Level Sensing Options in the MTxPC (AN74.1) (159KB PDF)
The MTxPC Family has several options available as level devices, from the MultiTrode Probe to analog devices such as presure transducers. This Application Note describes the options available and how to program them.
Digital Inputs Latching (AN28.2) (135KB PDF)
This Application Note shows how to wire digital inputs.
Multiple Sites in Close Proximity Sharing a Radio (AN52-1) (375KB PDF)
How to connect multiple controllers in close proximity to one radio.

What is a Pump Station Manager?
What is a Pump Station Manager?

I recently got a look at the MultiSmart controllers that you’ve created, and you’ve done well to package a good set of features into an attractive design and HMI-friendly product. I look forward to continuing to cover your efforts in the future.

MultiSmart will almost certainly play a large part in helping Thames Water achieve its goals in the near future. The fact you have put everything in a single box with ease of use, advanced intelligence and included a modern outstation means we can simplify our pump station switchboard design, save money on capital and operational expenditure as well as mitigate many of our current risks. I look forward to working closely with MultiTrode so we can get the most out of a pretty impressive product.
